Integration · Twilio
Twilio AI outbound calling and SMS from the numbers you already own
Add your Twilio numbers once. The AI appointment setter calls from them, the send-SMS node texts from them, and your Twilio bill stays your Twilio bill. No per-minute markup, no porting, no new vendor in the middle of your telephony.
- Calls and texts from your own numbers
- Pay Twilio directly, no markup
- Quiet hours and opt-outs on every message

What it does
Where Twilio shows up in a campaign
Three places an integration can appear: as the event that starts a run, as a node in the workflow, or as a tool the agent calls mid-conversation.
Triggers
Twilio does not send events. Start campaigns from a contact event, a tag, a Calendly event, a webhook or an import.
Workflow nodes
Send SMS
Texts the contact from a Twilio number you choose. Supports merge fields, a respect-quiet-hours toggle and an idempotency key so retries never double-send.
AI call
Places the outbound call through Vapi using your Twilio number as the caller. Reserves a concurrent-call slot, parks the run, and resumes when the call ends.
Agent tools
The agent does not call Twilio tools directly; Twilio is used by the workflow nodes.
Campaigns
Three campaigns teams run with Twilio
Each one is a published workflow you can draw in an afternoon. The guides walk through every node.
Speed to lead
A text from your number, then a call from the same number a minute later. Pickup rates climb when the caller ID is familiar.

Setup
Connect Twilio in five minutes
Numbers are added one at a time with their own credentials, so agencies can keep client numbers separate.
- 1
Add a phone number
On the Phone numbers page enter a label, the number in international format, your Twilio Account SID and the auth token. SuperCampaign verifies the credentials with Twilio before saving.
- 2
Connect Vapi
The AI call node places calls through Vapi using your Twilio number as the caller. Add your Vapi key on the Connections page.
- 3
Pick the number on each node
Every send-SMS and AI call node has a phone-number dropdown. Use different numbers for different regions, clients or campaigns.
- 4
Set quiet hours and opt-outs
Quiet hours for SMS and calls live on the organization settings page. Contacts carry their own opt-out flags for each channel.
- 5
Publish and watch the logs
Every text and call, with its Twilio delivery status or call outcome, appears on the logs page and the contact's timeline.

What the integration supports today
The facts, so you can plan a campaign without surprises.
- Credentials
- Account SID and auth token per number, verified on add and stored encrypted. Rotate a token by editing the number.
- Outbound SMS
- Sent through the Twilio Messages API with an idempotency key. Merge fields for contact first name, company, city and more.
- Outbound calls
- Placed through Vapi with your Twilio number as caller ID. Concurrency-limited and retried with backoff on transient errors.
- Inbound
- Not handled today. Replies to texts land in your Twilio console and inbound calls are not routed to the agent.
- Compliance
- Per-channel quiet hours, per-contact opt-outs, and automatic do-not-call when a lead asks the agent to stop.
- Billing
- You pay Twilio directly for numbers, messages and minutes at your negotiated rates. SuperCampaign adds no markup.
FAQ
Questions about the Twilio integration
Do I need a Twilio account?
Yes. You bring your own Twilio numbers and credentials and pay Twilio directly. SuperCampaign never resells minutes or messages.
Can I use several numbers?
Yes. Add as many numbers as you like, each with its own credentials and label, and pick the number on every SMS and call node. Agencies typically keep one or more numbers per client workspace.
Does the AI call go through Twilio or Vapi?
Both. Vapi runs the voice agent and places the call; your Twilio number is the caller ID the lead sees. You connect both accounts once.
What happens to replies to my texts?
Today they arrive in your Twilio console and are not fed back into workflows. Use the call, not the text, for anything that needs an answer.
Does it handle inbound or missed calls?
Not on its own. Campaigns are outbound. If your phone system can send a webhook when a call is missed, that webhook can start a call-back campaign.
How does it avoid texting people at night?
SMS has its own quiet-hours window in your organization's timezone. A blocked text parks until the window opens. Contacts who opted out of SMS are never texted.
