Integration · Vapi
The Vapi integration that adds the campaign around the call, and hosts the tools
Vapi runs the voice: the model, the speech, the call itself. SuperCampaign runs everything around it on your Vapi account: what triggers the call, the text before it, the calendar check, the booking tools the agent calls mid-conversation, the retry two hours later and the callback at the time the lead asked. No server to host, no code to write.

What it does
Where Vapi shows up in a campaign
Three places an integration can appear: as the event that starts a run, as a node in the workflow, or as a tool the agent calls mid-conversation.
Triggers
Vapi does not send events. Start campaigns from a contact event, a tag, a Calendly event, a webhook or an import.
Workflow nodes
AI call
Builds a Vapi assistant from your agent configuration, reserves a concurrent-call slot, places the call through Vapi from your Twilio number, parks the run, and resumes when Vapi reports the call has ended.
Agent tools
calendly_get_slots · calendly_book_meeting · calendly_search_meetings
Attached to the assistant as Vapi API-request tools whose endpoints SuperCampaign hosts and signs. The agent calls them mid-conversation.
googleCalendar_getSlots · googleCalendar_createEvent · googleCalendar_getEvents
Same mechanism for Google Calendar: free slots within your workday hours, event creation with invites, and a look at upcoming events.
iclosed_get_slots · iclosed_book_meeting · iclosed_search_meetings
Same for iClosed, for high-ticket sales teams.
get_contact_history · get_current_time
The agent reads the contact's past activity and the current time in their timezone before it speaks.
Campaigns
Three campaigns teams run with Vapi
Each one is a published workflow you can draw in an afternoon. The guides walk through every node.
Speed to lead
A form fill becomes a Vapi call within a minute, with a text first and a retry if nobody answers.
- Contact created
- Send SMS
- Wait 60s
- AI call · Vapi
- Loop counter
No-show recovery
A cancellation triggers a Vapi call that rebooks through the hosted Calendly tools.

Callback handling
The agent captures “call me at 4”, the run parks, and Vapi places the call at 4.

Setup
Connect Vapi in five minutes
One key. The rest is configured in SuperCampaign and sent to Vapi on every call.
- 1
Paste your Vapi API key
On the Connections page choose AI Phone (Vapi) and paste the key from your Vapi dashboard. It is encrypted at rest and scoped to your organization.
- 2
Add a Twilio number
Vapi's free numbers cannot place outbound calls, so import your Twilio numbers on the Phone numbers page. Calls go out from them.
- 3
Configure the agent in the studio
Pick any model, voice and transcriber Vapi supports, write the first message and the script, set voicemail behaviour. This becomes the Vapi assistant on each call.
- 4
Attach the tools
Create the calendar tools you need and attach them to the agent. SuperCampaign registers them with Vapi as API-request tools pointing at endpoints it hosts and signs, so you never stand up a server.
- 5
Draw the campaign and publish
Trigger, text, wait, AI call, calendar check, loop. Publish. Vapi reports every call's end back to SuperCampaign and the run continues from there.
Details
What the integration supports today
The facts, including where Vapi's own features overlap with ours.
- Authentication
- Vapi API key stored encrypted. Vapi's end-of-call webhook is verified with a shared secret.
- Assistant configuration
- Model, voice, transcriber, first message, script, voicemail detection, speaking plans and tools, all set in SuperCampaign and sent to Vapi per call. A fallback transcriber is added to every call automatically.
- Tools
- Eleven tool kinds across Calendly, Google Calendar, iClosed, contact history and time. Registered with Vapi as API-request tools; endpoints hosted by SuperCampaign with a signed, expiring token per call.
- Outcome handling
- Vapi's ended reason is classified as connected, busy, no answer, voicemail, phone off or failed. Structured output captures do-not-contact and callback requests.
- Concurrency
- SuperCampaign reserves a slot under your organization's limit before dialling and queues runs behind it. Vapi's own concurrency plan still applies underneath.
- Vapi outbound campaigns
- Vapi can call a CSV of up to 10,000 contacts with one assistant in a scheduled window. SuperCampaign is for campaigns that start from an event, include texts and emails, check a calendar first, retry, branch on the outcome and call back when asked.
- Vapi Squads
- Vapi retired its visual Workflows product on 18 August 2026 in favour of Squads, which are configured through the API. SuperCampaign's canvas is separate: it orchestrates the campaign around the call, not the handoffs inside it.
- Billing
- You pay Vapi directly: its per-minute hosting rate plus model, speech and voice costs passed through at provider rates. SuperCampaign adds nothing per minute.
FAQ
Questions about the Vapi integration
Do I still pay Vapi if I use SuperCampaign?
Yes. Calls run through your own Vapi account and Vapi bills you at its published rates for hosting and for the models, transcription and voices it passes through. SuperCampaign does not resell or mark up any of it.
Do I need to host a server for the agent's tools?
No. This is the main thing the integration removes. Vapi tools need an endpoint to call; SuperCampaign hosts and signs those endpoints for every calendar and contact tool, and registers them with Vapi for you.
Can I just use Vapi's own outbound campaigns instead?
If you want to call a CSV with one assistant inside a window, Vapi's campaigns do that. SuperCampaign is for the sequence: a form fill or tag that starts the run, a text before the call, a calendar check so booked leads are skipped, a retry cadence, a callback at the requested time and a confirmation email after. Its campaigns also start from events rather than uploads.
What happened to Vapi Workflows?
Vapi retired Workflows on 18 August 2026 and replaced them with Squads, groups of assistants that hand off to each other and are configured through the API. SuperCampaign's visual canvas is unaffected; it orchestrates the campaign around the call rather than the conversation inside it.
Which Vapi plan do I need?
Any plan that allows outbound calls from an imported number. Vapi's base tier allows four concurrent calls; if your campaigns need more calls in flight at once, raise your Vapi concurrency and your SuperCampaign limit together.
Can I use my existing Vapi assistants?
SuperCampaign builds the assistant from its own agent studio so the tools, structured output and fallback transcriber are wired correctly. Copy your prompt and settings into an agent once; it takes a few minutes.
